HAIFA HOME

HOME FOR HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS

The Haifa Home for Holocaust Survivors

Holocaust Survivors

Approximately one-fourth of Israel’s 165,800 (January 2022) Holocaust Survivors live below the poverty line and many more are suffering from illness and loneliness. 90% of all Survivors are over 80 years of age. Little time remains for us to reach out and care for these last living witnesses. This project aims to show Christian care for those who suffered unspeakably in mainly “Christian” Europe and to assist them in living out their lives with dignity, well cared for, and surrounded with love.

Haifa Home

In 2009, the ICEJ began a partnership with a local charity to provide a warm community/Home for them in Haifa. This unique joint project between Christians and Jews offers assisted-living facilities and a warm community of loving Israeli staff and ICEJ volunteers looking after their daily needs.
